ASK Associates is a Canadian accounting and taxation firm with 50 to 80 employees, serving trucking companies and individuals across Canada. Their existing website had aged out of relevance. The design was outdated, there were no online forms to capture leads or applications, and the content was not doing the work needed to convert visitors into clients.
The brief was a complete rebuild: new design, new functionality, new copy, and a content management system the team could operate independently. The goal was a website that generated engagement and supported the firm's growth, not just one that confirmed they existed online.
Cenciss handled design, full-stack development, copywriting, and deployment.
The design problem was credibility. A professional services firm with 50 to 80 employees and a specialized client base in trucking taxation needed a website that projected the right level of authority. The old site was working against them, not for them.
The functionality gap was costing them leads. Job applicants, prospective clients, and businesses requesting quotations had no way to engage online. Every potential lead required a phone call or an email they had to initiate themselves. Online forms were not a nice-to-have; they were a basic requirement for a firm of this size.
Content had to be developed from scratch. The client did not have persuasive copy in place. Understanding the firm's services well enough to write copy that would resonate with trucking company operators and individual tax clients required research and close collaboration with the client.
The scope was open-ended by nature. A full redesign with copywriting and custom development across multiple features means requirements surface throughout the engagement. Multiple revision rounds were expected and managed.
Industry research informed the design direction before wireframing began. The accounting and trucking sectors both carry specific visual expectations: professional, trustworthy, no-nonsense. Wireframes were built around clear calls to action and user journeys targeted at ASK's two primary audiences: trucking companies and individual tax clients.
The rebuild used the MERN stack throughout: React.js on the front end for a fast, dynamic experience, Node.js and Express.js on the back end for API and form handling, and MongoDB for data storage. The architecture was chosen to support the custom admin panel without requiring an off-the-shelf CMS.
Three online forms were built and integrated: job applications, client inquiries, and quotation requests. Each form routed submissions to the admin panel with notification handling, so the client team would see new leads immediately without manually checking a database.
The custom admin panel gave the client direct control over blog content, job applications, and incoming inquiries through an intuitive interface that required no technical knowledge to operate. Copywriting was developed alongside the design, ensuring the text and visual structure reinforced each other.
ASK Associates saw a 30% increase in website traffic following the relaunch. The modernized design and improved search presence brought more visitors to the site, and the online forms converted a higher proportion of those visitors into actionable leads.
The client team gained the ability to manage their own content and respond to inquiries directly through the admin panel, removing the dependency on external support for routine updates.
The project gave ASK Associates a professional web presence appropriate for their market position, with the lead generation infrastructure needed to support continued firm growth.
