Care Cosmetics is a children's cosmetics brand and a subsidiary of Beauty Expert, a Pakistani cosmetics group. The brand had an established retail presence, but no online sales channel. Customers could not find them, browse their range, or buy directly without walking into a physical store.
The brief was straightforward: move Care Cosmetics online. Build a proper e-commerce website, get the products listed, and give the brand a digital storefront that could generate sales beyond their existing retail footprint.
Cenciss handled the full development and launch of the Shopify store.
Care Cosmetics was starting from zero online. There was no existing digital infrastructure, no product data formatted for e-commerce, and no team with experience managing an online store. Everything had to be built and configured from scratch.
The Shopify build needed to serve two audiences simultaneously: customers browsing and buying on the front end, and the Care Cosmetics team managing inventory, orders, and content on the back end. Both experiences had to be clean and reliable from day one.
As a children's cosmetics brand, the visual presentation was important. Product pages needed to feel appropriate for the audience and communicate the safety and quality of the product range, not just display SKUs and prices.
The store was built on Shopify using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid, Shopify's templating language, allowing for custom layouts and product page designs beyond what standard themes could deliver.
The product catalogue was structured and loaded with all necessary information including descriptions, imagery, and variant configurations. The checkout flow was tested end-to-end to ensure a smooth purchase experience across devices.
Additional functionality was integrated through the Shopify App Store where needed, covering areas like product discovery and store management. The client team was set up to manage the store independently post-launch, with the back-end configured to be manageable without developer involvement for day-to-day operations.
Care Cosmetics launched their first online store and established a direct-to-consumer sales channel for the first time. The brand could now be discovered and purchased online, extending their reach beyond their existing physical retail locations.
The Shopify platform gave the client's team a manageable, scalable system for running the store without ongoing development support. Customer feedback reflected a smooth shopping experience, contributing to early satisfaction and repeat purchases.
